A slow-cooked side dish with tender beans, bacon, and rich maple flavor. These baked beans are sweet, savory, and perfect for potlucks, barbecues, or a hearty family dinner.

2 cans (15 oz each) navy beans or great northern beans, drained and rinsed

1/2 cup ketchup

1/4 cup maple sugar

1 Tbsp yellow mustard

1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

1/2 small onion, finely diced

1/4 tsp black pepper

3 slices bacon, chopped

1 Tbsp maple syrup

Instructions:

  1. Put beans, ketchup, maple sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion, pepper, and maple syrup in the crock pot and stir to combine.
  2. Cook bacon lightly in a pan until just starting to brown.
  3. Add bacon to the crock pot and stir.
  1. Cover and cook on Low for 4-6 hours or High for 2-3 hours, until thickened and bubbling.
  2. Stir before serving and let sit 5-10 minutes to thicken.

Notes:

For sweeter beans, add extra maple syrup.
