  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed very well
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup pure maple syrup
  • ¼ cup melted butter or coconut oil
  • ⅓ cup cocoa powder

  • Optional: 2 tbsp maple sugar for extra maple punch

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8X8 pan or line with parchment.
  2. In a blender or food processor, blend beans, eggs, maple skyrup, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until completely smooth.
  3. Add Cocoa powder and bakning powder; blend again until thick and glossy.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips if using.
  5. Pour into the pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bank 22-28 minutes, until the center is set but still soft and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Cool at least 15 minutes – they firm up as they rest.
  8. For extra maple goodness, dust the top with maple sugar while warm.

Notes

  • These are fudgy, not cakey — almost like a maple brownie truffle.
  • If you want them sweeter, add 2–3 tbsp brown sugar or maple sugar.
  • They freeze beautifully.
  • A swirl of peanut butter or maple cream on top before baking is incredible.
  • Store brownies in an airtight continer at room temperature for up to 2 days, refrigerate for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
  • You can get pure maple syrup from Presby’s Maple Farm LLC.
  • For a dairy-free version, use coconut oil instead of butter and choose dairy-free chocolate chips if adding them.
